Legend of Grimrock Coming in April
Almost Human Games announced this morning that its action role-playing game, Legend of Grimrock, will be released sometime in early April. LoG is a 3-D first-person party-based RPG that pays homage to classic computer role-playing games such as Dungeon Hack, Wizardry, and Eye of the Beholder. It will be released first on PC, with tentative plans for an iOS release at a date to be determined.
There was mention that the game would be released on Steam and that there would be achievements, so expect it to debut on Valve’s distribution platform first. Unlike those classic RPGs we already mentioned, Legend of Grimrock lets you explore an underground labyrinth in real-time and offers plenty environmental puzzles, real-time combat, and a little over a dozen different enemies to fight off. Almost Human Games claims that LoG will offer about 10 hours of gameplay.
They expect the game tobe out of beta and have a final release candidate ready for testing sometime next week. Beta testing is closed, so if you are hoping to get your hands on it before then you can put that idea to bed. Good night, moon.
I haven’t had a chance to play this game yet, but from what I have read about it, and from the videos and screenshots I have seen, it looks very promising. When I get my hands on it (and you can rest assured that I will), I’ll let you know in this space what I think of it. I am concerned that, at 10+ hours of gameplay, Legend of Grimlock might be too thin of an experience, but we’ll see.
Update: I should stop drinking and writing. The game is “Legend of Grimrock,” not “Legend of Grimlock.” Thanks to my pal in the comments! I have no idea what “Legend of Grimlock” is – perhaps a new padlock designed by SATAN?Explore posts in the same categories: News, PC, RPG, Video Games
